With TOTEM, AyéléeFleurie invites you on a journey into traditional African art, celebrating its distinctive carved wooden statuettes.

These small statuettes are shaped and polished entirely by hand. Often seen on Benin and Togo art markets and sold as decorative pieces, they are also genuine ritual objects. The figures and scenes they depict hold a precise role, serving as a bridge between the living and the ancestors.

TOTEM transposes these pieces of art in a majestically 134cm-scaled composition, whose organic and soft silhouettes are delicately painted in watercolour.

TOTEM exudes an aura of serene, comtemplative and quiet strength.
